Would cutting a long box to fit a short box chassis work?

I have a 68' chevy c10 shortbox. I bought it without a box. I found a 56 or 57 shortbox on craigslist. There's also a 69 chevy longbox. The longbox is cheaper, but id have to cut it. What would be the easiest thing? Would a 56 fit?
