The new display is lit, but its blank

I ordered a iPhone 4s replacement display and followed the guide for replacement successfully. When I turned on the phone again, the screen lit, but it was blank. I did receive phone calls and it seemed to be working.

I tried hard reset with Power and home button depressed. It didn't work. I disassembled AGAIN and checked all connections for looseness or damage. No problems seen.

There does appear to be a 1/2" slightly gray line running vertically in the center of display. I could swipe to shutdown phone (blind) and answer the phone with a bottom swipe of the screen (also blind). The screen is definitely lit too. The new display literally went from the bag to the iPhone, so I didn't "over handle" it. Could the screen from iFixit be bad?

It is possible that the screen is defective. We test every single item that we sell but we have a few "roque" products that decide to misbehave once they have reached the customer.

Go ahead and email support [at] ifixit.com so that we can take care of you.
