iPad won't turn on?

I replaced the display on my iPad 3 4G with one I purchased from iFixit. All went smooth until I put the display in place to check all buttons and make sure the iPad worked before adhering the display permanently. A very faint glow was the only form of life on on the LCD but, no more than that. No icons or enough light to even see the home screen. If I hit the Home button the glow returns and when I hit the lock button the glow disappears. Thank You ahead of time!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hey jrgomez,

Try holding the sleep/wake button for 15 seconds till the device turns off then let go,plug in your iPad charger cord then the apple logo should appear, hopefully everything goes well.

Good luck,

Regards,

Chuck

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for your input but, no such luck. I'm really bummin because it's my friends iPad and I don't know what advice to give him from here. We checked the troubleshooting guide. The second suggestion was a bad display. Which he just bought as the old one shattered. We opened the iPad back up and checked all connections and the like. We can hear alert and reminder sounds. we're just lost at this point. Thanks JG

Hello. Ipad is pretty good designed machine and generally there is not much things can be broken on logic board if nobody's unprofessional hands have not been there. about 60% of COMPLETELY DEAD ipads can be restored to life with simple battery replacement. The ipad battery have it's own logic board, which did not allow ipad to start if it feel that battery condition is unacceptable. We are working now on the software solution to "reset" battery eeprom, but for now no results.
