From what you have written I take it you have a MacBook Pro and you have a blue screen. If that is what you have try and reboot and hold down the shift key until it comes to desktop. If that works just restart it and all should be fine.

Now if you a white screen you will need to reseat the memory module and hard drive.

But in order for us to give you more info we will need more info on your computer such as is it a Unibody or an older one and what the speed of the processor is.

Can you tell me which MacBook Pro you have? The instructions are different for the two basic model type.

I saw on the other tread you said it was not a unibody. So to reset the memory, Take out the battery, remove the three screws that hold the angled panel just aft of the battery. When you remove the panel you will see your memory modules. Make sure the power is not connected and make sure you put your feet down and not move them when you remove the memory. Each side of the memory holder has a plastic arm holding them in place. You must lightly move them out from the memory and tilt the memory up and out. Same with the second set below that one. Then reinstall them in the same order making sure they are seated and the clips close in on the indents of the memory. Reinstall the panel and the three screws and battery. Give it a try.

To reset the hard drive it is much more complicated. Follow the steps in the following procedure down through step 10. (even though it is for the 17" it is almost identical to yours. : MacBook Pro 17" Models A1151 A1212 A1229 and A1261 Lower Case Replacement

Then go to step 36/37 and see how the hard drive cable connects and insure it is tight. BE CAREFUL THE CABLE IS FRAGILE. If all is good follow the instructions in reverse from step 10 and put it back together and see if that takes care of it. Be sure to follow all the steps from 10-1 and make sure you put the keyboard cable back on right in step 10. Keep your feet still while you work on the computer to keep static down. One little zap that you can hardly feel will destroy the mother board. good luck and hope the memory reseat takes care of it.

Lots of work for a couple of lousy points, but nice work anyway ;-) +
