MacBook Air won't turn on anymore (no sign of life at all!)

Hello guys,

The 11" MBA of my wife is not turning on (no sign of life at all) anymore after she connected an 65w power adapter on it. It caused a little blow sound and a soft "burn smell" near the power connector...

As I work with computer maintenance but I'm no expert in Mac, I'm thinking about changing the I/O board and/or the I/O cable.

So do you think it can solve the problem?

Thank you!!

I would pull the unit apart and look at the l/O board and check it for bad components. Most likely you fried the l/O board and not the motherboard. Buy a replacement l/O and use a different MagSafe!!

hello, I do not know 65w charger!

I know 45 60 and 85w!

what color is the LED on the charger when it is connected?

if there is no light... effectively replace the MagSafe to start!

if nothing changes .... very bad news!

Sorry about the adapter, it was 60w. I already tried other adapters (good 45w ones) but there's no bold light when connected. In fact, every adapter shows a very very soft green light, but that's it.

I'm wondering if just the I/O board is damaged or there's something else, like the logic board...
