Why is my screen and digitizer being weird?

So, about a week ago..I ordered a new replacement LCD screen+digitzer from online. Two nights ago, I installed the screen after waiting for the tools, and it was working just fine. The screen was responsive, the colors were normal, etc, and so i shut off my iPod (btw, I had not yet installed the steel plate, that covers the logic board, because I was tired and figured I'd resume repairing on the following day). But the next day, when I installed the steel plate, the screen was being weird; the color was off (almost as if it was washed out, and the color was greyish/whitish) there were little stripes. But it was still responsive to my touch.

But now, it won't respond to my touch at all. And I'm thinking I got a defective screen, or maybe I screwed something up?

Also, the power button and the home button (I think it responds when I have the metal plate on top of the logic board)) won't respond anymore,

but I made a tiny tear on the power button flex... (i can solder that though... right?) the volume buttons work fine though.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?
