doesn't see any harddrive,it spins but nothing more

I have a macbook c2duo from 2006,it has an optibay and there is placed the harddrive, because I saw that it can't see any harddrives there, were it should be near the battery.I don't know if it's important, but it can't go to sleep(display stops, harddrive in the optibay also stops, but the cooler starts faster and it doesn't sleep, you have to turn it down from the power button, because it's unresponsive to the keyboard or the touchpad button,no blinking light),and the remote control also doesn't work(it has good batteries). Also in system profiler under "Serial ATA" is, something wrote :

Intel ICH7-M AHCI:

Vendor: Intel

Product: ICH7-M AHCI

Link Speed: 1.5 Gigabit

Description: AHCI Version 1.10 Supported

And the ir receiver driver is there too:

IR Receiver:

Product ID: 0x8240

Vendor ID: 0x05ac (Apple Inc.)

Version: 1.10

Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec

Manufacturer: Apple Computer, Inc.

Location ID: 0x5d200000 / 2

Current Available (mA): 500

Current Required (mA): 100

If you know what could be the problem ,I would appreciate it a lot if you could help me

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Have you formatted the drive? As far as your keyboard not working, that has nothing to do with the opti-bay installation. You might want to try checking the connection to the Logic Board, it may not be properly seated.
