iPod replacement screen won't show up?

I just replaced my iPod touch 1g digitizer using. A replacement screen found on Amazon. I have checked both of the ribbon connections to make sure they were attached correctly and secure. I took my time, followed the iFixit guides and DirectFix's Youtube guide to replacing an iPod screen. When I plug in my iPod into a power cable and/or my computer I hear a single beeping noise as a normal iPod would do when connected to a power source. The only problem is I am getting no light to emit from the display. It doesn't turn on according to what I can see. I need to know if their is any way I can fix this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated

If the flex cable connection is Ok, maybe the screen is a aftermarket one. You should get an original one.

Well there is no way I can get a real one, could it be that I just need a new display screen?

Reset the ipod by pressing home- and powerbutton for 15 sec.

That won't work for my iPod.

It may be a faulty screen

What do you mean by a faulty screen, can you be more specific?
