check gauges light on

after replacing timing chain cover the check gauges light came on. Had the alternator check but it passed. What else should I check. Truck is a 99 dodge durango

I would take it to a place that can do the OBD scanning. Places like Autozone do it for free, it will give you at least an idea of what might be going on.

A 99 Durango, you have an unlucky 7 engine. All Chrysler 2.7, 3.7 and 4.7 engines have a serious problem with sluge. Most likely when removing the cover you disturbed the build up. What happens is the sluge has now clogged the pick-up screen for the oil pump. That's the most likely cause of your problem. Proceed cautiously. If your up for battle that may never be won you can remove the oil pan and clean the screen.
