2009 Logic Board works in 2010 Body

I had some trouble recently when I bought a 2010 27" iMac off of Craigslist for cheap/parts. Turns out it was the logic board, and other than the overpriced boards sold new, the only one on eBay that was close enough was a 2009 model.

So I bit the bullet for about 300 dollars and finally received it yesterday.

I couldn't find any information with this exact information and was excited that it did indeed work. Hopefully this will help someone with a similar problem some time. This was NOT a C2D board that I put in, I can not confirm if that would work or not.

I know this isn't a question, just information for someone in the future.

Thanks for the information! I merged this with your original question.

With the models being the same and both boards being "i" processors rather than a Core 2 Duo, I would say your odds are very good. For a better answer, I would contact and ask them if this board - - will work in your machine. PS give them the last four figures of your serial number when asking.

Good thinking, sir. Sneaky!

I am waiting on a response.

Don't feel bad about wasting some of their time, they've burned me three times sending me used parts when new ones were ordered that I've about finished with them. I just wish iFixit would get Apple Authorized so they could sell new parts along with the used ones. Some things just require new parts over used.

It would be amazing if iFixit was AA.

I'm a little bummed that the power supply I bought here wasn't the solution, kind of a waste of 150 bucks ($180 shipped since I overnighted it).

I think it would boost their business tremendously.
