I upgrade leopard to snow leopard and now its really slow ¡

hi my english is really bad so im sorry if its confusing what the problem is but here it goes

i upgrade leopard to snow leopard and now the computer is really slow, for instance when i try to open system preferences i have to wait like 4 minutes or so to do what i wanted to do, the same thing happens with quicktime, when i try to see a video i have to wait like 5 minutes until the program responds and then another 5 minutes or so because the video stops every 2 seconds.

its very frustrating because some programs like ichat doesnt respond even if i keep the program open all day long... so what i can do...

First question is how much ram do you have? You can have 2 GB with your computer and that's what I would recommend to run Snow Leopard. If you have sufficient ram I would suspect a problem with the install. You can do an archive and install and see if the computer runs better before restoring your other programs. I would then restore them one at a time checking for proper operation as I went. First check your ram and let us know how its going. Good luck. Ralph

Agreed + I would also defragment the files and optimize the volume. This will also check for any bad blocks on the hard drive.
