dropped in bath, how to fix?

i dropped my n8 in the bath a while ago, i tried drying it out but it seemed completely dead so i left it for a few months, then i tried charging it and turning it on so i could attempt connecting it to my computer to rescue some important pics, and success it worked! but the screen wouldn't light up, would this mean that if i replace the screen it should work, and can i do this myself or do i take it to a chinese man to fix but would it cost many pounds. any advice appreciated thanks.

You should be able to replace the screen yourself, and that will hopefully fix your screen issue. The instructions to tear it down to your screen are right here:
