Lost one tiny screw

Iv lost 1 of the tiny scres inside my ipod touch 4th gen will this matter when i reassemble it or is it just not going to matter?

Hi Terry,

It depends. Some screws hold down the metal plate in the area of the home button. You want to make sure that this area stays "low" as much as possible so that you are able to lay in the LCD/digitizer and even it with the frame.

Other screws take care that the metal plate that covers the motherboard is fixed and also pushed down.

But in any case, the screw would matter to me and I would get it for the sake of the overall "health" of the iPod in the (near) future. Worst case scenario could be that the screw creates a shortcut somewhere. Also and over time, the screw could move itself into an area where it might block, scratch, or break something.

If your iPod is still open, I encourage you to search for it.

Hi Terry, just for clarification: Which copper tap is it? The one that you wind around the connector/slot of the digitizer or the one connected to the metal plate (where the back camera is)?
