Charging until 5% then stops

Hi guys! please forgive me my bad grammar.

Iam researching that problem now for hours. a friend of mine let his iphone fall, while it was charging. he put it back in and it was loading very very slowly. He gave it to me, and i turned it on. It was empty and i tried to charge it up. it is charging up until 5% then turning on with apple logo and i can unlock the phone and use it, but the battery stopped charging.. slowly gettint empty again and turns off.

opened the phone, changed the dock connector with a new on. i took some glue to stick the flex cable on the left side. on the right side is a little pin, connecting the dock connector to the logicboard but thats now the problem.

another problem is.. the homebutton is not working.

and my computer is not recognizing the iphone when it is turned on.

any suggestions? i read about another guys having the same problem and swapping his battery with a new one. didnt work for him.

Hi Mana,

I am feeling a little helpless not knowing what the real problem in your case is. But maybe my guess turns out to be helpful.

It could be that from the fall, the connector of the synch cable was affected (since the cable was connected to the iPhone at that time).

I remember that I had a similar problem with my iPhone 3G. It wasn't charging correctly and wasn't recognized by iTunes either. After countless tries what the cause of that problem could be (by the way> changed the battery but without success), I figured out that it was the sync cable that caused this issue.

When I was able to borrow a used one from a friend, I plugged it in and - lo and behold - the iPhone was recognized by iTunes and charged!

you mean this cable ? http://www.usbshop.tv/WebRoot/Store3/Sho...

iam using a new one that is working perfectly fine with my own iphone 4s . or do you mean there could be possible some damage at this part here http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/8/goh...

the dock connector is new and i dont know if this part could be possibly related to the charging issue

Mana,

The home button might be a different story. But first see, if you get the real problem (above) fixed.

In case you need to fix the home button, see the guide for a possible home button fix here>

Unresponsive Home Button

That seems to be pretty easy.
