Why won't my ipad 3 turn on after replacing digitalizer?

I just replaced my ipad 3 digitalizer screen due to a cracked screen. After reassembling the LCD and attaching the digitalizer, i did a test fix to make sure the new screen fit into the ipad case and my ipad will not turn on. I read that doing a DFU restart may help but when I pluged in my ipad my PC would not even recgnoize the device. The ipad was working great, I did a complete back-up prior to removing the screen. I powered down the ipad before I started heating up the sides for removal and that was the last time I saw the screen on. I've double/ triple checked my LCD connect it looks great. I didn't insert the chip past the white line and the latch is snapped in place. Does anyone have any recommendations??? Please help me.

You might have accidentally ripped the power button-volume strip while replacing the digitizer
