Smoke when starting 2004 Chevrolet Colorado?
I have a 04 Chevy Colorado, here lately it smokes when I start it, the weird part about it is that it doesn't do it every time. It can go days without doing it. I have noticed also that it misses, but again this is not a problem happening all the time just once in awhile. I have been told it could be the value seals leaking but no one understands why its not doing it all the time. Any suggestions? I really hate to take it to a dealership and pay all the money if its a simple fix! Thanks :)
Is this a good question?

What size engine is it and what type of transmission (AT or MT) Is your oil consumption up? Any service lights on?

well the smoke is white/blue. Its a automatic and the engine size is a 5 cylinder? if that helps. Also the engine light comes on, but then goes off. Had computer read but it only said multi. misfires. And yes the oil consumption is up

Sounds like you are starting to burn some of your oil. I'd start with a compression test and/or a leak down test. You pretty good with tools and working on those engines?

could this also be water vapor?
