Scratched Bottom Case on My MacBook Pro

If I buy the MacBook Pro case from iFixit and install it, does it void my Extended Apple Warranty that I purchased when I bought my Mac? I am just asking because I somehow I got this nasty scratch on the bottom of my case and it is just too awful to look at and I didn't drop my MBP or anything but somehow this scratch appeared and I would like to replace the bottom case to keep the computer in like new condition. My performance has not been affected at all it's purely a cosmetic thing. If anyone has any insight I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

The bottom case of the Unibody you indicate is able to have the bottom removed by the consumer and is required to come off to replace the memory. It is 9 screws and pop it off. It should have no effect on your applecare warranty. You can call Apple at 1-800-275-2273 and verify with Apple to be sure. See the following for replacement instructions.

I agree -- get a ruling from Apple. +

In that case: Let Apple swap it or f*** Apple and change it yourself. The only proof of the serial number is the System Profiler anyway. Even that changes when you swap the Logic Board.

My input on this is that your original bottom case also has laser engraved serial numbers, and the the new bottom case would not have the matching numbers if it's a used one, and if its new..... well i ask that question myself, if its new what does it say on the bottom? Blank or do you get it lasered in lol.
