20" iMac power supply problem

Hi,

I have a 20" imac that would simply power off on its own. I replaced the PS with one from ifixit and all was good, but 1.5 weeks later, it won't power on at all. The power switch is completely unresponsive. I reset the SMC, but still nothing. Was my power supply not the problem in the first place?

I swapped out the new power supply for the old one and the status lights on the logic board lit up when I applied power. I guess the new PS went bad in a week. Commencing return process....

Sounds like you may have gotten a bad power supply but it would help to know all the original symptoms.
