MacBook air won't start, won't charge, LED ON!

Hi,

I have a macbook air 11'' late 2010

for a while now it won't start, I don't hear any start up noise but the charger's green LED is on! the battery won't charge either! once I left it plugged in for a couple of days and it started charging (LED changed to orange) and when I started it I checked the battery condition and it's excellent with not a lot of cycles so I know the issue is not the battery. Could it be the I/O board or its cable?

I'm very handy with these things so if that is the issue do you recommend I do it myself to save some bucks or take it to apple? macbook is out of warranty and I don't have apple care.

Thanks!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Your best bet would be to go to the closest Apple store and ask them to do it because from what you're describing, it sounds like you have a dead, or dying for that matter, logicboard.

I don't understand why would the logic board be dead since the macbook is a little over one year old and NOTHING was spilled on it!!!

You have some of the top Mac experts in the world right here. Doing what "szymon says" makes no sense to me. What operating system are you running?

thanks mayer. it's running on snow leopard. tried different chargers too and no luck, the current charger (45W) charges a white macbook just fine
