What needs to be replaced after a coffee spill?

Wrestling dogs brought a full cup of coffee on top of my open and running MacBook. I immediately tuned it over while pushing the power button to shut it down. I wiped it down and removed the battery. Let it dry out for a few days. When I restarted it, I get a couple of issues. First off, the screen starts up with a "stage lighting" appearance. Almost like theres spotlights from the bottom of the screen. After a minute or so, they go away and it is evenly lit. The backlighting on my keyboard is pretty much gone with the exception of a few keys toward the center of the board. All the keys are sticky, but as I type, they loosen up. I'm assuming I need to replace the bottom portion of the laptop, including keyboard. But will that solve the issue of the odd lighting of the screen. It has no effect on me once the screen warms up. I just worry it may be symptomatic of something else that may get worse. Everything else is working fine so far.

There are a lot of separate problems going on. You'll definitely need a new upper case and probably other things. A new upper case will not solve the LCD problem. It may need a new logic board or display inverter to fix the issue with your LCD. If it still works and is usable then count yourself lucky.

Just a thought, It might be worth trying to sell it on eBay. Just explain what happened to it and the issues you are having currently. Someone would probably take it off your hands and you could then buy a new one. After you spend all the money to fix your current computer you might have already been able to buy a new one after you sold the broken one for a less.
