What needs to be replaced after a coffee spill?
Wrestling dogs brought a full cup of coffee on top of my open and running MacBook. I immediately tuned it over while pushing the power button to shut it down. I wiped it down and removed the battery. Let it dry out for a few days. When I restarted it, I get a couple of issues. First off, the screen starts up with a "stage lighting" appearance. Almost like theres spotlights from the bottom of the screen. After a minute or so, they go away and it is evenly lit. The backlighting on my keyboard is pretty much gone with the exception of a few keys toward the center of the board. All the keys are sticky, but as I type, they loosen up. I'm assuming I need to replace the bottom portion of the laptop, including keyboard. But will that solve the issue of the odd lighting of the screen. It has no effect on me once the screen warms up. I just worry it may be symptomatic of something else that may get worse. Everything else is working fine so far.
Is this a good question?
