Moist LCD Screen, any possibility to dry?

Hi there

I just replaced a digitizer and had some fingermarks on the LCD screen. Stupidly, I breathed on it to clean it. Now it seems that it got moist under the surface. In any case, after having connected everything together, the screen is particularly white with some stripes (but I can see everything, just not nicely).

Any idea how to solve this problem?

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

PS: I'm just trying the rice trick, maybe this will already work. But I want to be on the safe side.

You can remove the front and clean and dry both sides and clean the LCD as well. Just br careful and don't overdo--NO liquids. Ralph

Hi

Thanks for your reply but there seem to be a misunderstanding: I already removed the front panel and after having replaced the digitizer and when putting everything together again I tried to clean the LCD. It seems like it has gotten moist below the surface because I breathed on it (to clean it). The digitizer works just fine now, only the LCD doesn't display things properly.

After 24h in rice it hasn't improved noticeably. I suppose I need to buy a new LCD..?

Hi, Sorry about that--I missed that your problem was the LCD itself. I believe you are correct about needing a new LCD. I doubt its moisture though--the heat of your breath may have caused some separation of the film. Good luck on your repair. Ralph

Sounds reasonable as it doesn't really look like moisture (had the same problem once when I just breathed on the screen of a closed iPhone, that was definitely moisture, though). Thanks for your help anyway!
