How to find my iMac's EMC number

I have an iMac 24" Mid-2007 and would like to access your information about it. Your page iMac Intel wants to know what my iMac's EMC is.

How do I find out what my iMac's EMC is? And what does EMC mean, anyhow??

Thanks for the info.

According to how fast your processor is, your machine is one of these two:

Apple iMac "Core 2 Duo" 2.4 24-Inch (Al) Specs

Identifiers: Mid-2007 - 24" - MA878LL - iMac7,1 - A1225 - EMC 2134

or

Apple iMac "Core 2 Extreme" 2.8 24-Inch (Al) Specs

Identifiers: Mid-2007 - 24" - MB322LL/A - iMac7,1 - A1225 - EMC 2134

I feel EMC stands for "even more confusing" ;-)

Hi, mayer - Many thanks for the information - particularly the explanation of EMC!

Hello Mayer!

I still don't see any pattern or distinction in your answer. Both processors have the same EMC in your example. Regardless of the speed! How is the EMC determined? Can we have a breakdown maybe? Thanks!

@bsdjunkie - I'd love to but really don't understand them that well myself. It's supposed to be a more exact way to specifically identify a machine in a particular model line. But when there are only very slight differences, like the processor speed they use the same one. Maybe @oldturkey03 or @danj knows more about than I do. We'll see if they kick in.
