Ps3 will not turn on when pushing button on outside of machine?

Last night I attempted the ylod fix. Ps3 is working like a charm now. My problem is that when i put the top back on the machine, I can not turn the ps3 on by touching the on off button on the machine. when I take the top off however and touch the control board it turns on perfect. i tried turning the clips up just a little bit and it still has the problem. Any help would be great! Thanks So much
