How do I troubleshoot my left fan replacement?

I recently replaced the left fan in my Macbook Pro A1260. The repair seemed to go well but according to the Istat Pro widget the new left fan is not operational. It shows that the left fan is at zero rpms(I.E. not working)

All other features that were disconnected and reconnected during the process are working well.

Does anyone have trouble shooting tips for me?

Chances are that the fan is working but it is just not outputting any data.

Options

Try connecting the fan to the right output port to see if it is operational. Know your parts supplier!
