Hi Cuyler,

Based on my experience, the metal back is quite difficult to "re-bent".

However, here is what I would do first. I would try to locate the place where the metal back was bent. Then I would carefully take the iPod and would push against that place/location. If the bump is on the edge, I would hold the iPod onto the edge of a table and then would push slightly. However, I would do that VERY CAREFULLY and only push smoothly and not with too much pressure. All of the internal parts are in danger to break, foremost the motherboard.

The other way - which is much more time consuming but probably also more rewarding - would be to disassemble the iPod completely AND THEN to try to "re-bent" the case. In this case, nothing can brake (except of the metal back). But likewise be careful, too! On the other hand, if already disassembled, I would buy a replacement metal back.

Like I said, in case you would try to "re-bent" the metal back, be VERY CAREFUL!

Hi Cyler,

Before you try to "re-bent" the metal back, remove the screen unit, of course. Otherwise the screen will definitely crack! You might know that, but I wanted to be absolutely sure...
