No. The minimum system on this machine is 10.7 (11A2061). To reinstall the system have an internet connection and start up the machine with the "R" key held down.

the answer given previously is incorrect. You can indeed run 10.6.8 on this device, which probably goes against all manner of Apple folklore due it having 10.7 as the original factory OS and it is 'heresy' to back to a previous OS, usually forbidden by firmware. But for some odd reason 10.6.8 would actually boot and run normal on these with one major caveat: it has to be with the 'early' firmware. If you updated the firmware from 1.3 version to the 1.7, or later version you are SOL. I found that out the hard way when a dmg I made under 1.4 wouldn't re install on my HD. So being the persistent type put it on an external, but no luck it wouldn't boot. DANG! (or words to that effect, as this is a family program). So in essence the answer is a definite perhaps maybe. In my opinion if you have firmware version 1.3 to 1.6 you are in luck, while version 1.7 and later puts you out of the ball park. From memory 1.7 was a mandatory install for the 10.7.5 update, but might be wrong on that.
