Is there manual eject for the optical drive?

Is there manual eject for the optical drive?

My friend has a dead PB and my disk is stuck inside.

I saw the take apart manual for a jammed disk,

but would rather not have to take it apart

just to find there WAS a manual eject .

I tried poking a paper clip here and there with no success.

Push the paperclip straight into the hole, sometimes it takes some pressure to do this. +

this isn't one of the PBs with an eject hole.

None of the other methods will work because the machine won't boot up, it's dead.

I guess it's time to take the machine apart ......

the owner will want the hd out of it anyway.

Just inside the slot of the CD ROM drive on the right side "If memory serves" there is a little pad that you can push with the paperclip and it will activate the same thing that the ones with the wholes do.

Look at the picture in the link to locate the hole.

Mayer,

my machine has no case external hole for this.

that pic in the link is not what this machine has.

mactech,

I pushed and prodded but still didn't find it inside the slot.

machine specs:

(taking out the battery to see id plate)
