Black "thing" behind the keyboard...

Hi, I juste want to replace my Macbook Air keyboard, because the power button is dead, i don't want to replace the whole upper-case, le keyboard only is cheaper to try first. BUT... i already torn the "back paper" behind the keyboard the first time i openend the Macbook.

What is it called, what is it for (do i need it) where can i buy some to replace this one?

Thanks a lot,

I've done tear downs of the the many layered keyboards. Note the circuits in black plastic. There's no way to get all the parts. A complete upper case replacement is required.
