5 Why is my PV3000HF inverter not staying on?
Power inverter powers up for 5 seconds then cut off without anything plugged in...

It sounds like it's turning off because of the TrippLite load sensing module. The load sensing module causes the inverter to turn off when it does not detect a load. The way to test this is to connect an electrical device of some sort to one of the AC outlets on the inverter. Once you turn that device on, the inverter should start immediately. This feature was added in many of their higher-end inverters to help save power and to keep the inverter from unnecessarily draining a battery. There is a dial on the unit to set the load level at which the inverter will turn on.
