Replacing iPod touch 4g screen

Hello people

i broke my ipod touch screen by accident from a low hight but it still managed to break. The cracks where really annoying and i decided to fix it.i bought a new screen on ebay and tools etc and i followed a couple of guids at the same time. my problem is that the screen is unresponsive and i know that there are several FAQs about this already but due to my home button broken fixing when the part comes i cant do hard reset but i could restore to iTunes, power and volume buttons seem fine and that but when i show/wake the screen i cant touch and i have checked both flex cables and check on the mother board for damage and they are fine. i used to have a pass code on it and if i pressed 5 it pressed 8 so it wasn't calabirated properly. btw the sound is fine aswell so i havent torn any cables as far as i know of and i got the little metal clip on the old screen

Thanks

Joey Brown

Joey Brown, Always make sure that you double, sometimes even triple check your work. Make sure that the connector is seated properly. The part in your question "pressed 5 it pressed 8 so it wasn't calibrated properly" is usually caused by a bad digitizer. Once it is seated properly etc. there is really not a lot of calibration to do. Also, if your digitizer is not responding, despite being a new one, I would get it exchanged once more and retry. If it should still not work, you may have issues with the touchscreen IC om the mother board, and that is a PITA to fix....Try another digitizer first. Hope this helps, good luck.
