Why does my wifi show 'No Hardware Installed' after replacing it?

After buying a new wifi chip and doing a clean install of mountain lion, the wifi still shows no hardware installed ? what can i do ?

1) try to reset PRAM and NVRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379

2) check all connection

tried resetting PRAM and NVRAM. checked all connections. also on the other thread there was no fix. should i try buying a new cable ?

ehh yes! there is cable issue or in logic board connector..

ive read on some forums that if its a logic board connector problem, then the webcam wouldn't work. however my camera works for me. could it be a software problem?

you have to try it on other friends mac if you can...best way for no less money and time.
