What is the free slot next to right fan.

I've opened up many times my computer (macbook Pro 15 inch Late 2011 intel core i7 2.4 ghz. I've always wondered what is that unclosed connection next to the right fan. Its a slot and idk what it is for. http://guide-images.ifixit.net/igi/UTKyY... it doesnt show on this pic, but where there are many lines, there is a connecto on my computer.
