How do I replace the hard drive with Lion OS

I have a Macbook Pro 15" Unibody from late 2008/early 2009. I've purchased a new hard drive and enclosure and want to know how to replace the hard drive keeping my data intact. Any help?

First see if your machine has an EMC # of 2255 rather than 2522.

Put the new hard drive in the enclosure. Use Disk Utilities to format it. Give it one partition. Your current BUS is Serial ATA (3 Gb/s). See if the drive is rated for that or needs to be jumpered back to that speed.

Download and run SuperDuper to clone your old hard drive onto the new one.

Install the new drive.
