iMac boot issues, possible fire damage.

Have an iMac 24" to fix that was recently in a house fire. Though the iMac did not have direct contact with flames, it smells of soot and is in a random reboot cycle. I've replaced the hard drive and all it does is reboot and boot. I also tried a hard drive with a windows 7 system on it, and at least tried to boot it completely. Though, with a blank drive, will not boot for $!@^. Any ideas? Zapped the PRAM, won't go into Open Firmware, nor will the iMac boot from an OSX disc. I'm stuck.

Is the OSX disk the one that came with the machine?

Options

Talk with your insurance agent. If you are an adventurous sort a DIY clean may fix your problem (at this point you have little to loose). There could be carbon buildup shorting connectors. This is and advanced DIY

You would follow the guide to strip it to the logic board... carefully clean the logic board and all connectors, reassemble and see what happens.
