When I plug in the cord why won't it charge

When I plug in the cord I hear a small sizzle and the blue light goes out. I have taken the battery out and plugged the charger back in, it does the same thing. I used a different power cord to rule that out, it did the same thing.

Connie, first thing I would do is to check the power supply on the tip of the DC connector and see what voltage you have on there. It should show you a voltage of around 19 V. If it does not, either significant higher or lower, replace it. If it checks out okay get the service manual from here and check the power supply module. the sizzling sound could be a loose connection as well as a bad component, like a capacitor etc. Hope this helps, good luck.

It seems like your power supply is not providing adequate voltage or not, you can use a voltmeter to test the output voltage matching the label criteria. If the voltage a lesser then the specified one then you would defiantly need to change your power supply.
