Basically every color of the rainbow , going down my screen, getting worse everyday. lines some close together, some farther apart, hard to see behind the lines to do any work?

Which version of 10.4 are you using? There was a problem with 10.7 that had symptoms like yours. If you are using 10.7 try rebooting the PRAM and the goto system preferences and set the screen to 1024-768 and reboot. After the reboot you can set the resolution where you want it. Or just update to 10.4.11. Ralph

It seems that the display of your computer is dying, you can replace the LCD panel, accordingly with the model.
