Any luck with it? I have an A1224 that turns on LED 1,2,3 are on but no fan or display. The disk and turns on but keyboard does work. Seems it is failing to POST but since LED 1,2,3 are on; not sure what is the problem. I have checked the following using parts from a working iMac of the same kind:

1. LCD fine.

2. Graphic card fine.

3. Wifi/Bluetooth fine.

4. Power supply fine.

5. internal wiring fine.

6. Inverter is fine.

7. Fans are fine.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you still have a faulty power supply, where did the new one come from?

LED #1

Indicates that the trickle voltage from the power supply has been detected by the main logic board. This LED will remain ON whenever the iMac is connected to a working AC power source. The LED will remain on even when the computer has been shut down or put to sleep. The LED will turn off only if the AC power source is disconnected or the power supply is faulty.

LED #2

Indicates that the main logic board has detected proper power from the power supply when the computer is turned on. This LED will be ON when the computer is turned on and the power supply is working correctly.

LED #3

Indicates that the computer and the video card are communicating. This LED will be ON when the computer is communicating properly with the video card. If LEDs 1 and 2 are ON and you heard the startup sound, but LED 3 is OFF, then the video card might be installed incorrectly or need replacement.

LED #4

Indicates that the computer and the LCD display panel are communicating. This LED will be ON when the computer is turned on and video signal is being generated. If the LED is ON and there is no image on the LCD display panel, the LCD display panel or inverter might be installed incorrectly or need replacement.

I got i from i use them for my buisness and have done so for 2 years. I dont think its the new power supply thats the problem.

Try disconnecting the hard drive and booting from your original system DVD.

okay so i put in the cd. can hear it spins around and reads. But still no picture. still no light in the other 3 LED´s and still no chimes

maybe it is the power supply. i just put the Hard drive back in, and allso running the cd case with a cd in it. and now i hear a click click click comming from the HDD. that sound was not there before

okay so i just did a power supply test! and my readings are following:

PIN 1 - 2 -3 -4 -5

Off 0 - 0,1 - 0 - 2,6

ON 0 - 12.2 - 0.2 - 0

PIN 6 -7 - 8- 9 - 10

OFF 0 - 0,1 - 0,1 - 12,3 - 0

ON 0 - 12,2 - 12,2 - 12,2 - 0

Does that seem right ? used this diagram for it iMac Intel 20" EMC 2210 Power Supply Output Voltage Test
