Is the control panel on my kenmore washer on the way out?

I have a kenmore elite catalyst model 110.20052994 washer and the lamps on the control panel started changing erratically and beeping. It would automatically cycle through water levels, wash settings, and pretty much every available option on the panel. I disconnected the power for about 5 min and it started working again. Is this a sign that the control is on the way out? Or could it be something else that has been fixed by the control board reset?

Options

Unplugging for five minutes allows the control panel to reset. It may be just fine. Keep an eye on it to see if it malfunctions but if not, I wouldn't worry about it. It may just have been an electrical surge.
