How do I resolve my problem

How do I make make my computer load back up it says your start up disc is full you need more space on your startup disc by deleting files I cant get to the home screen to do that so how do I resolve this

Sounds like you have Lion or Mountain Lion.

Can you select File from the menu? If you can you should be able to open a New Finder Window then you should be able to select folders or files to delete to make more room. Don't forget to delete them from the trash to make the space free from your dock trash can or finder.

You need to boot from another computer or volume so that you can mount your HD and delete files from it. If that' is not possible removing one RAM stick might get you to boot (you're reducing the VMEM/SWAP file size but YOU MUST DELETE FILES AND EMPTY TRASH BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE. Cache files can be deleted, but you probably have large movie, music or image files that must go. YOU MUST SAVE `20% of your HD as "free space" (actually it's VMEM and SWAP file space not "free") or your machine will not boot.
