driver headlight is dim

i have a problem with my driverside headlight.my daytime lights work until i put my switch on then my driver headlight is dim, when i turn my lights off my daytimes dont work and my headlight indicator light blinks.

andre, check your light bulb to make sure that you have the right one installed. Check your wiring harness for a short. Check your connectors as well as relays for corrosion and make sure that you have proper ground connection.

1st Step:

Test with an Instrument (Voltmeter),

if the correct or sufficient Voltage is supplied at the Bulb.

Measure at the 2 terminals of the bulb.

If your vehicle has a 12 Volt Electrical System, (DC)

the display at the Test-Instrument should read approximately 12 Volts.

Most "Multi-Meters" are able to measure DC-Voltages.

Often the cause is a bad connection at the bulb-connection.

A bad connection is a Resistance for the electrical current.

This causes a Voltage-drop

and the bulb has insufficient voltage to light up fully.
