Is there any error in the guide about secondary hdd set-up?

In step 12 you write : "transfer the data cable to your new drive". But the data cable is not compatible with enclosure for additional hdd. There is sata slot and the cable is pata. Or am I wrong? If yes, when can I get the good data cable?

Options

Depending on your system the optical drive is a PATA connection on newer systems it's SATA.

It sounds like you didn't get the correct HD carrier to replace the optical drive.

iFixIt has two different units: PATA to SATA & SATA to SATA so you can put in a second SATA based drive into the carrier to replace the optical drive.
