Should I remove the microphone when changing iPhone 3 glass and frame?

Hello!

I am presently changing the glass and frame on my daughter's iphone 3G and I am about to assemble the new glass with the new frame but it doesn't seem to have a microphone like the old frame does so I was wondering if perhaps the aspect of the microphone had maybe changed or if I have to remove it from the old frame and add it to the new one? Thanks cause I am lost!

There is no microphone on the "frame" of the Iphone 3g. The microphone sits in the dock connector part. Maybe you are talking about the earpiece? Yes, you have to remove the earpiece, mesh, proximity sensor and homebutton and add it to the new assembly.
