Lock / sleep button ribbon cut

Hi there,

All of a sudden my lock button got really hard to push, I went to YouTube and found a video of a quick and homemade repair. You may have seen it, the one with the little bit of paper put between the button and the black ribbon. Unfortunately me being me... I accidentally snipped the black ribbon. Doh! So I quess what I'm asking is have I well and truly broke my button now? And is there inexpensive fix?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I would really appreciate your answers.

iPhone 4 Power & Lock Button Replacement

If you destroyed that cable, then yes your buttons shouldn't work. If you go to the end of that guide you can see them pull out the flex cable (ribbon) very carefully. Luckily if you can complete the steps before the end you should be able to repair your phone.

That SHOULD be the part you need =)
