Small scratch on the digitizer - low half (1 cm) not responsing

After replacing my ipad 2 broken screen, about 1 cm from the bottom of the touch is not responsing. The rest of the Ipad touch screen is working. I found a a small scratch on the digitizer screen. Would that be the problem?

peckha, I am sure it is not the scratch that gives you problems, but it is most likely indicative of a fractured digitizer circuit. This happens actually quite frequently. I would suggest that you contact the vendor and have the digitizer replaced. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks for the answer. I mis-spoke about the scratch. I found a small tiny scratch on the LCD screen. Would you think that is the problem?

Same problem. If there is a certain area that is unresponsive to touch it is most likely a bad circuit.

I appreciate the response. Thank you. I have put a request for replacement and return.

It is not the scratch on the LCD that causes your digitizer to have failed :-)
