Dryer Exhaust system not seem working - solved

Hi, my dryer can't dry anymore clothes, I think the exhaust system is not working. I disconnected the exhaust tube and no air comes out.

We have a 2 years old Bravo Maytag quiet series 300, and once the dryer have this problem, a repairman comes and discover metallic cents and causes a breakup. I think it's the same problem but I doesn't note the part name.

I want to know what could be this part name, and where I can find it. Also, some tips on how can I have access to this part (do I need to disassemble a lot of panels?)

thank you !

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Finally, I have found the problem. I succesfully disassemble the dryer and I have seen 2 loose parts: a bolt and a strap. I have figured that for some reason, the bolt have been screw off by itself. I have replaced the bolt on the exhaust system and on the motor, made test and everything seems ok...

(NOTE UNPLUG THE DRYER BEFORE PERFORMING AND TYPE OF CHECKS, THERE ARE ELECTRICAL DANGERS EVERYWHERE) Have you checked the vent line that carries the air outside through that silver flex hose that is connected to the back of the dryer? See if it is clogged with lint. That was the fix for mine.

If not that is the heating element hot? are the clothes hot to the touch even though they are not dry?

Find the Model # and the serial # of the dryer. try googling the phrase

Maytag quiet series 300 model XXXXXXXX clothes won't dry and see if any of the answered questions come up as your same issue. or see if the maytag sight has a forum area for trouble shooting, or if you can submit a question to a repair tech.

1. are the cloths hot but wet? if yes then it is not the heating element

2. could be the vent line is clogged or has become Pinched when you slide the dryer back against the wall. many times birds, squarrls, or mice crawl up into the vent line and nest in the winter if there is no screen cover over the vent exhaust exit hole go out side and see whats happening there with the dryer on. make sur the exit isn't hung closed.

3.could be a fuse, look in the back upper part of the dryer for a instruction manual, that can help you locate a possible hidden fuse.

4. could be a bad timing switch?

One tip i learned after issues arise with a product you have to have a service tech out for. Have a peace of paper or note pad with you when he shows up. write down everything he tells you and ask tons of questions. When a person thinks you are the type of person that keeps close records, they seem to take the job a little more serious and many times when they would just do what needs to be done to get out of there because(fill in the blank) it's 5 o'clock. If they know that you will be able to recite documented words and times there won't be any shortcuts, lies or i don't have that part. told to you.

Now for the most part techs are not like that but, there is a rotten apple in every barrel.

What are Metallic cents? that sounds like he was saying pennies. Maybe Flakes from the vent hose being chewed by a animal or shredding in someway while building a nest that clogs the vent line up.

That's all I can give you on it.

hi Gary, when I disconnect the silver flex hose from the dryer and when I start the dryer, there is no air that comes out... The element is heating, the clothes are hot but it's not drying.

Sorry for my english, "metallic cents" is for pennies!!

Dryers usually have a high heat limit sensor that shuts off the heat if the high temp limit is reached. If the blower fan isn't taking humid heat away, or of the vent is clogged, the limit sensor will shut off heat prior to the cycle ending, leaving you a with wet, hot clothes.

Listen to see if the blower motor comes on, or if you can hear the gas burner ( if gas) come on. If so, when does it go off.

My guess is the exhaust blower is disconnected or broken, the dryer is heating, hitting the upper limit, then safely shutting itself off. G
