New Hard Disk, 4GB?

Hello everyone,

I was facing some troubles with my hard disk, so I bought a new HD (HD Seagate 2TB Sata 6GB/s - Barracuda Lp), it's 3,5', Sata, so everything seems good.

But today I removed the old Hard Disk and put the new, at this time my troubles came back... After the installation I simple boot my iMac (I've an OS on external drive) and when it boot, it alerts me about a disk (that need to be formated), when I open the Disk Utility I see this (http://pix.am/rZQ5/), anyone knows If I was dweeb on installation or it's a compatible issue?

Additionally you will have to format your new HD in order to use it...

It's a Disk Utility shot (from bottom)

If I try to format the new HD, it's failling, saying "Couldn't open device"

This machine requires an Apple drive with priority hard drive heat sensor or the fans will run away. It also needs special temperature sensor cables.

Here's what will work:

661-5516, 3.5" 7200 SATA 500 GB

661-5517 1 TB

661-5518 2 TB

The cables are:

922-9215 Hitachi

922-9216 Seagate

922-9622 Western Digital

So are you saying me that (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Seagate-Barracud...) hard disk, never gonna run correctly on my iMac?

You can check with Seagate to see which of their drives will run correctly on your iMac.
