Home Button Damaged while changing broken glass

I changed the severly broken glass on the front of my iPhone 3GS. I had a hard time getting the shatter glass around the area surrounding the home button. I needed to use a heat gun to lossen the glass and may have damaged the home button cable. When I reassembled the phone the home button did not work, ( it was working fine before). Not sure how to fix the home button? Do I need to replace the front assembly? I don't think I have the skill to resoder a new home button. Is there a part available that includes a new front assembly with home button intact?
