Can I put a 2011 top cover on a 2009?

Can I put a 2011 top cover on a 2009?

Hey all. I'm currently waiting for the delivery of a 2009 Macbook Pro 13" Of course as with most Macbook pro's it has a few dents and dings. I need to pretty much replace all of the casing. I can get a 2011 LCD Cover about $20 cheaper than a 2009 LCD cover. It seems as all I would have to do is put the LCD mount from the 2011 in the 2009 cover. Can anyone confirm this for me before I make an expensive mistake?

Also can anyone tell me what the rim is made of the LCD mounts on inside the cover?

I think the screw holes are in the same place and the rims should be able to be changed between the 2011 cover and the 2009 cover.

NO you cant.

The problem is not the LCD-Cable. This changed in 2012 not in 2011.

The WIFI modul is placed on the black pipe on the Display (2009) in the other one (2011) the WIFI is placed near the DVD-Driver. so this is not possible. So you can't put your wifi on the new screen. On other way the cable of the Cam is much different. Look in both manuals of an 2011MBP and an 2009 MBP you will see.

What is the black pipe made of? Is it cast or plastic?

So the Black pipe is Plastic and breaks very easy. Under this pipe ther is the Airport modul in the 2009 and in the 2011 there is only the antenna and the Airport modul is inside the topcase.

The other way the Cable of camera is going around the full size of the LCD and is under the Glass. The breaking of the glass is unhappy too and expensive. On the way you need the cable of the 2009(this breaks very easy i did it last year on mine) so... i think it will be easyer and cheeper to pay 20$ more for a display that is right for your macbook.
