Why do I struggle to hear caller after screen replacement?

Foolishly last month i dropped my 4s and smashed the screen, i have changed the screen twice and everything works apart from the fact that if i am in my house or any built up area i cannot hear the caller clearly through the earpiece on the handset or a handsfree device, they however can hear me fine. It sounds like i keep dropping signal but never enough to terminate a call.

I've had the phone away for repair and they replaced the earphone and i have replaced the antenna assembly, and the black microphone at the bottom, neither of these have rectified the problem.

Before i had this issue i had no problem hearing people during phone calls in my house or built up areas.

Any help would be appreciated.

Pete

If anyone happens across this problem in the future, i fixed it!! it was the grounding finger near the camera in the wrong position.

It should go screw, logic board, grounding finger, phone

NOT

screw, grounding finger, logic board, phone.

I had the same problem and finally bought and replaced the ear speaker. I'm not sure what I did to it when replacing the screen but the new piece didn't set me back much and was not incredibly hard to replace.

You might have damaged the headphone jack cable when you dropped it or replaced your screen. The background noise sensor (little hole next to headphone jack) may not be working properly and for a lot of labor and very few pennies you can replace the cable. Delicate fingers and patience.
